Join the Main Squeeze Orchestra for a holiday extravaganza filled with
spinning dreidels, talking snowmen, unholy virgins and a little rock and
roll.
So come warm your chestnuts with the MSO. We'll turn even the meanest
of Scrooges nice.
Galapagos has come back with an amazing new space...
so come join the ladies of The Main Squeeze Orchestra as they emerge from
the lake at Galapagos in Dumbo, wielding the Excalibur of musical instruments
- the accordion. Pop, rock, and vocal tunes played by 12 groovy gals on
the accordion, led by the Merlin of Melody, Walter Kuhr.

Love | everybody's doing it, or wanting to do it or in denial of wanting
to do it. Clean & Nasty and The Main Squeeze Orchestra get lovey dovey
in a joint show celebrating the thing everyone can't get enough of. (No,
not cash; the other thing). If bluesy originals with flagrantly low-brow
lyrics sung by a Korean-American soul singer with a full band including
the only Welsh banjo player in existence PLUS the only all-female, all-accordion
orchestra on earth lead by local accordion-guru, Walter Kuhr don't spell
romance, nothing does.

Bells are jingling... Toes (and other extremities) are tingling. It's
the season of Kris Kringling, which means the girls and boys are co-mingling
on this night for the Main Squeeze annual holiday show.
Main Squeeze Orchestra and the swanky, lounge/jazz ensemble, The Last
of the International Playboys will bring in the holidays together with
style and sound on this night of Main Squeeze merry-making.
HALLOWEEN SHOW @ JOE'S PUB
MAIN SQUEEZE ORCHESTRA & THE LAST OF THE INTERNATIONAL PLAYBOYS
Bandleader Walter Kuehr (accordion, bassoon, backup vocals) originally
from Hamburg, Germany has been part of the NYC music scene since his arrival
here in 1990. He started The Last of the International Playboys in the
mid '90s. Walter has gathered together some of the most accomplished jazz
and latin musicians in New York today: Memmo Accevedo (percussion), Michael
Arenella (trombone), Steve Bloom (guitar), Mark Giammario (drums), Steve
Gluzband (trumpet), Craig Rivers (tenor sax, soprano sax, flute), Jennifer
Vincent (bass). "The Main Squeeze Orchestra is a New York City-based,
dozen-plus, all-girl accordion troupe that overflows the scales of feminine
virtue in the name of song. More sugar cube than vegan icing, they do
cabaret and camp along with all the bellows' best, while dressed, coiffed,
and rehearsed like some Central European Berry Gordy fantasy. " - Village

Accordions love summer, love going to the pool and doing back flips and
eating snacks from the the snack stand as you dry in the sun. The trick
to summer is to live each day of it like it will never end even though you
know it will. The Main Squeeze Orchestra will help you fake yourself out
into fully living up the summer by casting the spell that only an all-female,
all-accordion orchestra can cast. Completely accordion versions of everything
from classical pieces to 80's pop are a primer for all the pleasures of
summer --bike-riding without your shirt on, gelato in the afternoon, slightly
hungover brunch in outdoor seating, that impossible hell of all stenches
outside East Broadway and Jefferson St. Ah... summer.
